Responsibilities

• Conduct H&Ps, physical exams of patients admitted to hospital.
• Transcribe accurate nursing and progress notes in medical record.
• Report significant changes in the patient’s diagnosis.
• FNP will immediately report to attending psychiatrist and family practice physician any significant change in the patient’s diagnosis.
• The FNP will coordinate his/her regular schedule and on call schedule regularly with facility supervision and with Family practice physician.

FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER, MENTAL HEALTH FACILITIES

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for Mental Health Facilities will work closely with the assigned family practice physician to treat and care for the primary health care needs of children, adolescents, and adult patients within client Mental Health Hospitals. The FNP will also attend to treating and caring for patients’ medical needs under the supervision of the family practice physician.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the family practice physician, the FNP will do H&Ps, physical exams of patients admitted to hospital.
• Function under the established hospital bylaws, policies and procedures approved by the medical staff organization and Board of directors.
• FNP will transcribe timely and accurate nursing and progress notes in the patients’ medical record.
• FNP will immediately report to attending psychiatrist and family practice physician any significant change in the patient’s diagnosis.
• The FNP will coordinate his/her regular schedule and on call schedule regularly with facility supervision and with Family practice physician.

Working Conditions

• 2 weekends out of the month.
• Flexibility in setting work schedule, with work hours falling between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm.
• Continuously meet minimum required hours of direct services to clients each week, allowing remainder of work hours of documentation, meetings, trainings, and supervision.
• Will meet with 20 patients or more, may fluctuate.
• CPT code-based compensation.
