Opterra Solutions, Inc. in Georgia is seeking a Repair & Restoration Technician I to help keep stormwater systems functioning safely. You will inspect, maintain, and repair facilities and operate equipment such as tractors, UTVs, excavators, and other machinery; and you will document daily reports and safety checks.

This on-site role requires travel 50–75% within the territory, strong teamwork, and a hands-on approach to outdoor work with a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel 50–75% by vehicle, including overnight travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable using technology and mobile applications to complete daily tasks and reports.
  • Ability to work safely in a variety of outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and restore stormwater facilities such as retention and detention ponds, drainage ditches, swales, catch basins, sand filters, and underground conveyance systems.
  • Operate equipment such as tractors, UTVs, excavators, skid steers, slope mowers, marsh masters, and zero-turn mowers.
  • Use handheld equipment including chainsaws, string trimmers, pole saws, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers.
  • Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and adjustments on vehicles and equipment.
  • Communicate with customers regarding work being performed, timelines, and updates.
  • Complete daily technology-based reports and safety documentation.
  • Assist with traffic control, including flagging and setting signs and cones.
  • Prepare materials and herbicides for applications as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow OSHA, PPE, traffic, and company safety requirements.
  • Participate in training, company meetings, and licensing programs.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to travel 50–75% by vehicle , including overnight travel throughout the assigned territory
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Comfortable using technology and mobile applications to complete daily tasks and reports
  • Ability to work safely in a variety of outdoor environments

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in construction, landscaping, vegetation management, stormwater maintenance, heavy equipment operation, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Experience operating trucks, trailers, UTVs, tractors, or heavy equipment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Confined Space Entry (CSE) certification
  • Ability to read and interpret stormwater, grading, utility, or construction plans

Physical & Work Environment

This is an active, physically demanding position. Technicians should be comfortable:

  • Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and walking for 8–11 hours per day
  • Routinely lifting, pushing, pulling, or moving 50+ pounds
  • Working in heat, humidity, rain, sun, and other outdoor conditions
  • Walking and working on uneven ground, slopes, embankments, and varied terrain
  • Working around water and in confined spaces
  • Working around wildlife commonly found in stormwater environments, including snakes, spiders, and stinging insects
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
