Venture Community Services Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a Direct Support Professional to advocate for adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping with daily living, community participation, and medical appointments as needed.

This full-time DSP works evenings and weekends with a 32.5-hour schedule, earns $17.50–$19 per hour, and receives paid training, a sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, and paid time off.

Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc…so that they may always look and feel their best. The DSP may be asked to assist them to their medical appointments, banking, assist them to become active members of their community, attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and to follow medical guidelines that are in place.
DSP workers are provided paid New Employee Orientation, paid CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program and person specific training at the individuals’ home. The DSP must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.
DSP workers must maintain certifications, handle job related duties in compliance with Agency policies and follow all DDS regulations/policies.

Schedule

Sun 4p-11p, Thur 3p-11p, Fri 1:30p-11p, Sat 3p-11p

Full-time 32.5 Hours

Pay

Pay rate: $17.50-19 per hour – Paid training provided by Venture!

Sign On Bonus

$1000 for Full Time and $500 for Part Time employees

Requirements

• 18+ with reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Employees must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above, and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job.
• Employee must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported. This may include holidays, overnights, or double-shifts.
