Job description

Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground

A successful supervisor will be responsible for oversight of one or more underground telecommunication construction crews, ensuring that the installation, maintenance, or repair of customers’ telecommunications equipment is completed safely, timely and accurately. At a minimum, the position requires a working knowledge of telecommunications construction; familiarity with excavation equipment, utility lines and poles; ability to use digger derrick and trenching equipment; and ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.

Travel Requirements

This position requires 100% travel and may involve a minimum of five weeks out at a time, depending on the work needed.

• Tallahassee, FL to New Orleans, LA
• Tallahassee, FL to Atlanta, GA
• Augusta, GA to Charlotte, NC
• Atlanta, GA to Houston, TX

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and safety.
• Supervise day‑to‑day activities and project progress, establish guidance on project execution and ensure compliance with deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with employees, contractors, vendors, and customers.
• Identify and course correct project issues and risks, and assist in developing response plans.
• Understand current and future business goals and ongoing issues.
• Implement and maintain processes to support project completion.
• Communicate with company personnel, customers, and contractors to ensure tasks are completed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field or 3 years of related work experience.
• Previous supervisory and/or managerial experience.
• Project management skills including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
