Prudent Technologies and Consulting, Inc. seeks a Senior SAP PLM Solution Architect / Principal Consultant for 100% remote work. With 20+ years in SAP PLM, you will lead and govern enterprise PLM solutions across NSR, ETO/CTO, and MRP/SC domains in global manufacturing.

You will design architectures, drive NSR/ETO/CTO processes, enable integration with SAP ECC/S4HANA and multiple PLM systems, and mentor teams through transformations.

Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned SAP PLM Solution Architect / Principal Consultant with 20+ years of experience leading product lifecycle, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain transformation in discrete industries. The role requires deep expertise in Non-Standard Requirements (NSR), Engineer-to-Order (ETO), Configure-to-Order (CTO), configuration management, New Product Introduction (NPI), BOM governance, Engineering Change Management, Variant Configuration, Object Dependencies, and integration between enterprise PLM platforms and SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA.

The successful candidate will operate as a trusted advisor and architecture leader, connecting Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Service, and IT to deliver scalable, governed, and business-aligned solutions.

Key Responsibilities

SAP PLM and Engineering Transformation

Lead enterprise SAP PLM strategy, solution architecture, roadmaps, and design governance.

Design and optimize product development, NPI, product release, engineering records, document management, and product governance processes.

Facilitate cross-functional workshops and translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose SAP and PLM solution designs.

NSR and Customer-Specific Engineering

Architect NSR processes covering customer requirement capture, technical evaluation, quotation support, approvals, engineering collaboration, manufacturing readiness, and delivery.

Establish traceability from customer requirement and quotation through sales order, configuration, engineering, planning, manufacturing, and service.

Define controlled trigger, revision, reprocessing, and freeze-point mechanisms for frequently changing customer requirements.

ETO, CTO and Supply Chain Management

Lead integrated ETO, CTO, Make-to-Order, and project-based manufacturing process design.

Connect Engineering with demand planning, procurement, production planning, manufacturing execution, quality, logistics, and service.

Design scalable operating models for complex, configurable, and customer-specific products.

Configuration and Variant Management

Govern characteristics, classes, configuration profiles, configurable materials, object dependencies, constraints, selection conditions, procedures, and variant tables.

Lead SAP Variant Configuration and Advanced Variant Configuration solution design across quotation, sales order, planning, manufacturing, and service processes.

Ensure configuration consistency, validation, effectivity, and end-to-end traceability.

BOM and Engineering Change Management

Define governance for EBOM, MBOM, configurable BOM, sales-order BOM, production BOM, and service BOM structures.

Design Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Order processes, including impact analysis, approval, effectivity, release, auditability, and downstream synchronization.

Improve BOM accuracy, ownership, reconciliation, and change control across PLM and SAP.

PLM to SAP Integration Architecture

Define integrations between SAP and enterprise PLM platforms such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE, or Aras Innovator.

Lead interface design for material master, classification, characteristics, documents, BOMs, engineering changes, configuration data, object dependencies, and status or lifecycle events.

Guide selection and governance of integration patterns using REST APIs, OData, RFC/BAPI, IDoc, file-based exchange, middleware, and SAP BTP Integration Suite.

SAP ECC and S/4HANA Transformation

Assess existing ECC PLM and NSR custom solutions and define transition paths to S/4HANA.

Promote simplification, standardization, clean-core principles, and appropriate use of side-by-side extensions.

Define future-state architecture leveraging relevant SAP capabilities such as DMS, Engineering Change Management, AVC, MDG, BTP, and Integration Suite.

Required Qualifications and Experience

20+ years of overall SAP experience, with substantial leadership responsibility in SAP PLM and discrete manufacturing.

Proven delivery experience across multiple full-lifecycle SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.

Deep business-process knowledge spanning Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Service, and Program Management.

Hands-on functional and solution architecture expertise in SAP PLM, DMS, classification, BOM management, ECM, Variant Configuration, Object Dependencies, and NPI.

Strong experience with NSR processes and ETO/CTO operating models for highly configurable or engineered products.

Demonstrated ability to define PLM-SAP integration architecture, data ownership, interface contracts, error handling, reconciliation, and governance.

Excellent executive communication, workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and global delivery leadership skills.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
