General Responsibilities

2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR - School Nursing Program promotes the optimal health of the school population through nursing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

• Provides first aid for illnesses
• Administers medications and treatments
• Conducts health screening and referral programs
• Carrying out communicable disease control activities
• Promotes safety
• Maintains accurate health records
• Provides health education and counseling to individuals and groups
• Participates in Planning and Placement Team, Student Assistance Team, and other interdisciplinary teams
• Performs home visits
• Oversees School Health Aides, Nursing Students, and volunteers
• Communicates with community resources as needed
• Develops and implements Individual Health Care Plans for students with special needs
• Performs other related duties and public health programs as assigned

• Registered Nurse with BSN or Associate's Degree with at least 15 academic credits in required areas of study
• At least 1 year of nursing experience within the last 5 years
• Part-time, 3 days per week, 21 hours
