Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison offers a one-year, non-ACGME certified fellowship in surgical pathology. The fellow engages in subspecialty sign-out across GI/Hepatobiliary, Breast/Gynecologic, GU, ENT, Thoracic, Bone and Soft Tissue with optional Outreach Pathology at Meriter Hospital.

It includes a flexible educational track and opportunities in research, leadership, and clinical service. The position is a 12-month terminal appointment requiring onsite work at a designated campus location,

Qualifications

• Graduate of a U.S. pathology residency program is required.
• Unrestricted Wisconsin Medical License by start date is required.
• Board eligibility or board certification in anatomic pathology is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret H&E and ancillary tests for in-house and extramural cases; participate in multidisciplinary conferences.
• Perform frozen sections and provide surgical pathology sign-out with faculty backup.
• Teach residents and medical students; supervise gross room activities and contribute to quality improvement projects.

Education

Graduate of a certified U.S. based pathology residency program

Unrestricted WI Medical License required by start date

Board eligible or board certified in anatomic pathology
