ARISE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE INC in Lafayette, NY is hiring a 1:1 direct support professional for a 15-year-old girl. You will help with daily activities, support her hobbies, and assist at home and in the community. Availability: weekdays 3:30pm-7pm and weekends 11am-7pm.

Starting pay: $17.50/hour with increases by experience; additional hours may be available. Must be 18+, able to work independently, have a NY driver's license with reliable transportation, and possess strong communication

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
No experience required but experience working with disabilities preferred.
New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.

Responsibilities

Assist a 15-year-old girl with hobbies and daily living at home.
Support her in tablet use and sensory activities, and in conversations.
Remain calm and follow seizure protocol when needed; assist her brother as required.
Provide care in home and community settings; many hours available with other clients.
Additional hours may be available through other services provided by the agency.
