Job summary

Bergen County Special Services School District is seeking a 1:1 Teacher Assistant (Multiply Disabled) for BLESHMAN Regional Day School. This 10-month, non-certificated position requires supporting students with significant educational disabilities and collaborating with a dedicated team.

Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, physical stamina to lift up to 25 lbs (with assistance), and willingness to learn the program’s technology.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to perform physical work, which requires frequent bending and lifting.
• Independently lift/carry up to 25 lbs., more than 25 lbs. with assistance.
• Demonstrated ability to work with or experience working with children with disabilities - preferred, not required.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for supporting the needs of students with significant educational disabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, technology that is used in the program.
• New Jersey residence within one (1) year from date of hire.
