Advocates Incorporated in Marcellus, NY is seeking a dedicated Mentor (DSP/1:1 Support Staff) to assist a gifted teenager with a developmental disability. You will help him learn independent living skills, develop communication and social abilities, and participate in community activities including swimming.

The role requires patience, reliability, and a keen eye for documenting daily time, mileage, and service notes.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma preferred.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must demonstrate sound decision-making and problem solving.
• Valid email address and driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Help the individual learn independent living skills and participate in community activities.
• Assist with transportation to and from swim practices and other events.
• Log daily time, mileage, and service documentation accurately.
• Provide patient, supportive guidance and positive encouragement.
