Job summary

Clarksville School District is seeking a 1:1 Paraprofessional to support a student with special needs at Clarksville Middle School. The role includes direct instructional support, personal care assistance, and supervision during transitions.

Training is provided through the MITS program with a $4,000 stipend upon certification. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred 60 college hours or an Associate’s degree, and experience with students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state paraprofessional exam pass or an Associate’s degree/60 college hours preferred.
• Experience working with students with disabilities is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions; patient, empathetic, and professional.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a student with individualized needs throughout the school day.
• Assist with academic tasks under instruction of the classroom teacher and special education staff.
• Provide toileting and personal care assistance as needed.
• Monitor and supervise during transitions, lunch, recess, and non-instructional times.
• Implement behavior support plans and maintain consistent routines.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet IEP goals.
