Job summary

Dayton Area School Consortium is seeking a Special Needs Assistant 1-1 at Xenia High School to support a student with individualized education needs. The position is 6.5 hours daily, Monday through Friday, providing one-on-one assistance under teacher supervision.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and Educational Aide Permit or credentials; a background check is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 18 years of age or older.
• Must obtain or have an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.
• 48 semester hours / 72 quarter hours or pass a Paraprofessional Test.
• Must meet the legal requirements relative to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the professional staff in providing special education services.
• Provide 1-1 assistance to the student at Xenia High School.
• Assist with implementing instructional strategies and supervising activities.
