Job summary

Tutor Me Education LLC in California is hiring Special Education In-Person Tutors to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring for students with special needs. You will support daily activities, offer encouragement, and tailor instruction to each IEP.

This role requires commuting to students' homes, developing personalized plans, adapting materials, and tracking progress. You’ll collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education teams to create a cohesive learning experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs and accommodations.
• Must be enrolled in college or have completed an AA, BA or higher.
• Ability to pass an in-person background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions for students with special education needs.
• Develop personalized lesson plans and strategies that align with each student’s IEP.
• Adapt materials, assessments, and teaching methods to fit learning styles and needs.
• Track and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams for a cohesive learning experience.
• Keep open communication with parents or guardians about progress and concerns.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment that supports emotional and behavioral growth.
• Stay up to date on trends and best practices in special education and apply them to lessons.
