Middlesex County STEM Charter School in Perth Amboy, NJ seeks a Paraprofessional to provide dedicated support to a student with specialized needs, working with teachers and the Child Study Team to implement tailored instructional activities.

The role focuses on assisting with curriculum access, behavior support, and data collection, ensuring IEP/504 alignment, with 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, in person. Salary starts at $35,000 per year with benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 30 credits or more from an accredited college or university.
• Valid NJ Substitute Teacher Certification.
• NJ Criminal History clearance.
• Work authorization in the U.S.
• Tuberculosis Test (required).
• Experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on support to students with special education needs in the classroom.
• Assist with teacher-directed activities and provide small-group academic support.
• Help students access the general education curriculum aligned to IEPs/504 Plans.
• Support Behavior Intervention Plans and positive behavior supports.
• Perform data collection on student progress and behavior as needed.
• Assist with organization, transitions, and daily routines for safety.
