Job summary

Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support a student 1:1 and assist instructional staff in various classrooms, helping with academic, behavioral, and language needs under supervision.

Duties include communicating with teachers, maintaining notes, implementing IEP accommodations, monitoring students during recess, bus, lunch, and emergencies, and attending ongoing training. Starting wage is $18.20 per hour with PTO and medical benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid ISBE Paraprofessional License or Short Term Approval.
• Basic knowledge and willingness to learn appropriate use of technology.
• Must have desire to work with students with special needs.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and their records.
• Understand basic elements of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Responsibilities

• Communicate with teachers, staff, support services and students.
• Collaborate and foster teamwork.
• Maintain anecdotal notes and data recording as needed.
• Implement behavioral intervention plan and procedures as needed.
• Attend ongoing training as needed.
• Assist with feeding, toileting and supervision as required.
