Job summary

Qualifications

• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and patience for working with students with significant special needs.
• Experience with students with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities preferred.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct one-to-one support to an assigned student throughout the school day.
• Assist the student in accessing academic instruction and life skills.
• Support implementation of instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology.
• Assist with personal care needs while maintaining dignity and privacy.
• Implement behavior support plans and promote appropriate social and emotional skills.
• Reinforce communication systems, AAC devices, and visual supports.
• Monitor and document student progress and communicate concerns to the supervising teacher.
• Support participation in inclusive classroom experiences and community-based instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, nurses, administrators, and families.
