Job summary

Spring Academy, a private Seattle school offering one-to-one instruction, seeks an experienced tutor for the upcoming school year. You will tailor instruction to individual students with learning needs, supporting their reading, writing, and math growth.

Qualifications

Spring Academy is a private school in Seattle educating students exclusively through one-to-one instruction. We are a progressive school for students who face obstacles in the traditional classroom setting: academic challenges, social or emotional issues, or learning disabilities. In addition to our onsite school, we partner with other private schools in Seattle to provide long-term, 1:1 instructional programs for individual students.

POSITION

We are looking for a 1:1 school tutor for the upcoming school year who shares our passion for education tailored to each child and has the requisite educational expertise to contribute to our mission. Our school tutors address learning goals related to the needs of students at private schools in the Seattle area. These students are enrolled in regular education classes but have additional learning needs. The position includes:

• 15-25 hours per week
• Monday-Thursday schedule (2 or 4-day workweek)
• $40 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Elementary or Middle School teaching experience
• Experience instructing students with learning disabilities
• Enjoys engaging directly with students in a one-on-one setting
• Flexible and able to adapt to a variety of student levels and personalities
