Job summary

TeemaGroup in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a licensed RN for a 1-on-1 school nursing role to support a medically complex student during school hours. The nurse will accompany the student from home to school and back, monitor health needs, and coordinate care with school staff.

Responsibilities include administering medications, updating medical records, ensuring safety, and communicating with parents and physicians. CPR/BLS and AZ School Nurse certification readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN License in AZ.
• Active FPCC.
• CPR/BLS
• Vaccine HB
• COVID Vaccine
• Eligible for Arizona School Nurse Certification
• Current CPR Certification

Responsibilities

• Evaluate health care needs of students and refer to appropriate specialist when necessary; administer immunizations and maintain records as deemed necessary by the school physician and in compliance with State laws; administer medications and maintain records including dosages and untoward effects; educate students in personal hygiene and total health care; make medical appointments; assist with doctor's clinics to describe the student's condition to the physician and interpret the medical information to the student and his/her parents; keep current medical records on each student; conduct routine surveys and annual screenings; keep parents apprised of student health status; work with physicians at the Student Health Center and throughout the State of Arizona; manage student emergencies related to accidents and health care; communicate student health care needs to the instructional and residence hall staff; and take sign language classes for communication with deaf students
• Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
