Wellesley Public Schools is seeking a 1:1 School Nurse to provide direct, individualized medical care and classroom support for a medically-complex student in an out-of-district placement. The role ensures the student’s health and participation in class by implementing IHCP and IEP directives.

Qualifications

DESE certification required.
Current RN license.
Current CPR certification.
Must be physically capable of lifting, positioning, or managing students as required by their care plan.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 medical care tailored to the needs of the student, including during transport to and from school.
Administer daily and emergency medications as per the IHCP.
Record nursing care, treatment, and medication administration in compliance with Massachusetts DPH and state board regulations.
Update the student’s health record using the SNAP electronic system.
Work closely with the educational team, including special educators and the district’s lead school nurse; attend IEP and Section 504 meetings; collaborate with external healthcare providers.
