Job summary

First Day Homecare® is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to perform skilled nursing functions under medical practitioner orders in pediatric private duty settings. You will follow the Nurse Practice Act and agency guidelines, assess patients, administer medications, document changes, and collaborate with the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current license to practice as an LPN in the state of operation.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and assisting individual with disabilities. Additionally, specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
