Job summary

Bethel School District 403 seeks a Paraeducator for mainstream special education support at Clover Creek Elementary (High-Needs School). This 1:1 position involves assisting certificated staff, instructing students individually or in small groups, and monitoring student behavior.

Requires completion of state paraeducator certification and Right Response training within specified timelines. Position is 6.5 hours/day for 164 days/year, plus additional hours in later years until certification.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Hold high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following options.
• Pass ParaPathways or Pearson Paraprofessional assessment, or AA degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits, or complete apprenticeship program, or complete Master Teacher Paraeducator Online Training.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with instructional and non-instructional activities for mainstream special education students.
• Instruct students individually or in small groups and monitor progress.
• Maintain records, logs, and assignments for assessment of student progress.
• Supervise student behavior across locations to promote safety and discipline.
• Establish communication with students, staff, parents and the public about progress and safety.
• Provide physical assistance as needed and monitor first aid needs.
