ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide at Canton College Preparatory School in Canton, Ohio. The role supports teachers, assists with classroom activities, and helps maintain a positive school climate for students.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree or two years of college coursework or completion of the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Successful completion of a BCI/FBI background check.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups per instructional plans.
• Assists with planning classroom activities and supports teacher in student/parent relations.
• Assists with school activities (events, meetings, chaperoning, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties (grading, copies).
• Assists teacher with classroom technology use.
• Maintains classroom, lunchroom, and other areas in good condition.
• Adheres to school philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties including field trips and duty assignments.
