Nteasee Tutors in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a compassionate 1:1 Paraprofessional to provide in-home after-school support for a child with ASD. The role focuses on communication, social-emotional growth, and daily living skills in the family setting.

You will implement ABA-based strategies, collaborate with parents and specialists, collect progress data, and maintain professional boundaries in a home environment.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Experience supporting behavioral, developmental, communication, or learning needs.
• Ability to implement individualized behavioral strategies and follow established support plans.
• Strong communication, patience, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a home environment while collaborating with caregivers.
• Dependable, punctual, and available consistently during after-school hours.

• Provide 1:1 support to the child during after-school hours.
• Implement structured activities to promote communication, social interaction, independence, and daily living skills.
• Utilize ABA-based strategies, including reinforcement, prompting, modeling, and redirection.
• Support with Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs), when applicable.
• Assist with after-school routines, homework, educational activities, and transitions between activities.
• Develop functional life skills, including self-care, personal organization, following directions, and independence.
• Encourage appropriate communication and social interactions with family and others.
• Identify potential behavioral triggers and implement proactive strategies for emotional regulation.
