Job summary

Whitesboro High School is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teacher Aide for a 10-month assignment, with hours from 7:25 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.

This role supports a high school student with individualized assistance and helps with classroom activities. Responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting with reading and math practice, supervising study hall and lunch, assisting teachers, and performing routine tasks under the building principal.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Regular attendance required.
• Past performance on the job must be satisfactory or above.

Responsibilities

• Assists in setting up classroom equipment for activities and reads tests into assisted technology.
• Works with individuals or small groups to review progress in remedial reading, mathematics, spelling and other subjects.
• Occasionally oversees class when the teacher is out of the room; supervises study hall, corridor, lunchroom and other monitorial duties.
• Assists in routine classroom housekeeping chores; organizes and participates in group games and related activities.
• Assists teachers and students in selecting supplementary materials from the library; may assist with notes, books, and preparing materials; may read to children in lower grades.
