Job summary

Kindly Direct Care hires Direct Support Professionals to work one-to-one with adults with developmental disabilities throughout New Jersey. You will mentor, coach, and help individuals become more independent and connected to their communities.

Opportunities vary by location and schedule, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, daytime, part-time, or full-time placements. You will follow individualized plans and maintain documentation while supporting meaningful activities.

Qualifications

• Friendly, reliable, and able to build trust.
• Strong communication and good judgment.
• Interest or experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, or disability services.
• Ability to complete background checks and onboarding/training.
• Reliable transportation when required by assignment.

Responsibilities

• Spend time in the community engaging in recreation, errands, events, or meaningful activities.
• Coach daily living, social, communication, problem-solving, and independence skills.
• Help individuals build routines, confidence, and community connection.
• Support progress toward individualized goals with respect for choices.
• Provide companionship and model appropriate communication and relationships.
• Assist with daily routines or other support needs per assignment.
• Maintain safety, follow plans, and communicate concerns promptly.
• Complete required documentation and maintain reliable attendance.
