General Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Nova Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, the 1:1 Assistant provides individualized support to a student in a classroom setting.

Salary: Full salary range will be $22.18 - $26.99 per hour. As of 9/1, the salary range is $22.76 - $27.69 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.

Assignment: This position will work 32 hours per week, 164 days a year.

Regular attendance required: This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment. This position is 7.5 hours per day, 210 days per year. Regular attendance during those hours are expected.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age and a High School Diploma.
• Must meet one of the following educational requirements:
• WA State ECE Certificate of Specialization; OR
• 48 semester/72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting young children.
• Experience supporting children and families furthest from opportunity.
• Experience in mental health, behavioral health or special education.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

Employment Requirements:

• Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
• Proof of MMR vaccination or exemption.
