The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is a 156-bed private behavioral health system located on 13 acres in Greenville, South Carolina. We specialize in psychiatric programs and substance abuse treatments, including detox and rehab services, serving Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and surrounding areas in South Carolina and western North Carolina. We are looking for a Mental Health Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, crisis intervention, and assisting with activities of daily living. Flexibility to work with diverse populations—including males and females, adolescents and adults, including dually diagnosed individuals—is essential.
High school diploma or equivalent; strong communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; preferred certification as a nursing assistant or patient care technician; familiarity with medical and psychological terminology; good interpersonal skills; basic understanding of human behavior or psychology; ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to learn necessary skills if not already possessed.
Knowledge of various medical and safety equipment; ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds; capable of working in a dynamic environment with noise and interruptions; able to perform repetitive motions and communicate effectively; capable of perceiving detailed information through oral communication and visual observation.
