Job Description

The West Chester Area School District has the following General Music teaching position available at the elementary/secondary level, with the appropriate valid PA certification:

1.0 Long Term Substitute - General Music Teacher - Fugett MS

To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill, and/or ability necessary:

• Bachelor’s degree with appropriate valid PA certification
• Ability to implement a holistic instruction and assessment system based upon state academic standards
• Proficiency in the use of instructional technology to enhance student learning
• Ability to design an instructional program aimed at addressing the racial achievement gap
• Effective interpersonal skills to interface diplomatically with teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff, and outside contacts

*Candidates without their PA teaching certificate must have the College Verification of Eligibility Letter confirming successful completion of the program and eligibility for certification.
