TITLE: Traffic Coordinator I

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for ensuring all paperwork for the shipping/receiving departments are completed and maintained in a timely and accurate manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as routing guides, carrier documents, and vendor packing slips. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with all employees of organization and outside vendors as necessary
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule for
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in SAP is preferred as daily use of SAP may be required in this position.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Entering various data related to shipping documents into the automated warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Process bill of landing
  • Contact carriers as necessary to have shipments picked up
  • Monitor the completion of inbound and outbound shipments and daily review of all paperwork
  • Maintain break log, Investigate and resolve issues and communicate with appropriate company personnel and carriers
  • Daily routing of orders to maximize efficiencies and minimize fright cost where appropriate
