Job summary

Heidelberg Materials in Sumter, SC is seeking a Pump Operator to safely operate pumps, monitor levels, and support plant operations. This role requires attention to safety, adherence to procedures, and the ability to work with heavy industrial equipment outdoors.

You will perform inspections, maintain records of material movements, and collaborate with production and logistics teams while following EH&S guidelines and using appropriate PPE.

Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Safely operate pumps to transfer, load, and unload bulk materials and liquids
  • Monitor tank levels, flow rates, and material quality to ensure operational efficiency
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and pipelines
  • Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory levels
  • Collaborate with production and logistics teams to support plant operations

  • Must be able to don all applicable PPE per EH&S qualifications
  • Ability to climb heights of 10ft or higher with the aid of fall protection equipment
Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial tank farm and material handling area. It involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, operating heavy equipment, and handling bulk materials. Physical activity such as climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods is required, with strict adherence to safety protocols.
