Job description

Position Purpose : As a member of the Bistro management team, the Executive Chef assists the AJ's Bistro Team Lead in effectively directing and supervising all activities of their department and its personnel to achieve merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. The Executive Chef reports to the Bistro Team Lead and collaborates directly with the Store Team Lead.

Responsibilities : An Executive Chef is responsible, friendly, and capable of working safely in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service.

Executive Chef's responsibilities include :

  • Act as the store's primary foodie
  • Assist in curating product assortment and procurement for the Bistro
  • Develop recipes for gourmet food with healthy options
  • Create menus and collaborate with vendor partners on product and recipe development
  • Work with the Catering Director on menu planning to ensure profitability and quality standards
  • Oversee food safety and sanitation in the Bistro
  • Educate guests and team members about products and recipes
  • Manage ordering and inventory for the Bistro
  • Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Bistro team
  • Support scheduling responsibilities
  • Drive sales and profitability while controlling shrink, labor, and expenses
  • Stay updated on healthy eating and food trends
  • Ensure a safe working environment by complying with policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all weights and measures regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Employees may occasionally experience physical demands such as standing, sitting, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), pushing, keyboarding, telephone use, walking, and bending for extended periods.
