Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Washington state seeks a 06 Journeyman Electrician to independently install, service, and maintain fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and other low-voltage systems according to plans and codes. You will read blueprints, perform testing, and document work across multiple sites.

The role requires 3+ years in fire and life safety, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel. NICET I+ preferred; 30–45 USD per hour with full benefits at reputable company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
• Ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes.
• 06 specialty journeyman electrician license for low-voltage systems (telecom, data, security, fire alarms).
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license if driving is required.

Responsibilities

The 06 Journeyman Electrician is capable of independently performing core installation tasks for fire alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems, and other low voltage specialty systems. This role is responsible for completing standard installation jobs, without direct supervision, while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company quality expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.

Education/Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes.
• 06 specialty journeyman electrician - licensed professional with low-voltage, power-limited systems in telecommunications, data, security, and fire alarms.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Other Duties

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

Compensation

• $30 - $45 hourly based on experience
