Books-A-Million in Kokomo, IN is seeking a reliable Keyholder to act as a limited Manager on Duty, safeguarding store assets and supporting the management team. You will lead assigned category teams, ensure excellent customer service, and uphold company policies.

This role requires a high school diploma, prior supervisory experience, and the ability to stand for extended periods. You’ll handle cash, deposits, and daily operations while training associates and communicating with the team to

• Maximizes profits and customer service by leading assigned category team and operating the store in adherence to all Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Operates the store as a limited Manager On Duty in conjunction with the management team.

• Ensures highest level of customer service and handles customer complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Maintains category merchandising and cleanliness and ensures operational efficiency.
• Trains and develops Associates within category and facilitates cross-training for further development.
• Facilitates effective communication to all store Associates through daily briefings and weekly/monthly meetings.
• Drops off bank deposit and picks up change order as needed.
• Picks up café grocery supplies as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Keyholder operates as a limited Manager on Duty by maintaining the physical security of the store, under direction from the management team.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maximizes profits and customer service by leading assigned category team and operating the store in adherence to all Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Operates the store as a limited Manager On Duty in conjunction with the management team.
• Maintains the physical security of the store they are assigned, and in doing so is a key-holding member of management.
• Ensures highest level of customer service and handles customer complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Maintains category merchandising and cleanliness and ensures operational efficiency.
• Trains and develops Associates within category and facilitates cross-training for further development.
• Facilitates effective communication to all store Associates through daily briefings and weekly and monthly meetings.
• Drops off bank deposit and picks up change order as needed
• Picks up café grocery supplies (milk, baked goods, etc.) as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned.
