Job Summary

Transports and stack bins or pallets and processing equipment as necessary for a smooth and efficient processing operation. Also uses dumper as necessary. Must be able to perform all forklift driving positions in processing.

Production Standards (Responsibilities)

• Good lift truck driving skills and safe working habits.
• Store and transport fruit keeping accurate track of fruit.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of department.
• Ability to make quality decisions about condition of fruit.
• Properly check and maintain forklift.
• Must not bang bins when dumping to loosen fruit.
• Properly fill out Drivers Daily Forklift Checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Fast paced work area. Department is exposed to outside temperatures and dust. Safety glasses and ear plugs required while driving forklift. Work area wet and requires proper shoes or over-shoes.

Physical Activity

Occasionally (up to 3 hrs) Crouching, Walking, Standing, Squatting, Kneeling, Crawling.

Frequently (3-6 hrs) Climbing, Bending (waist), Twisting (neck), Bending (neck), Twisting (waist).

Constantly (6-8+ hrs) Simple Grasping (both hands), Reaching (above and below shoulder level), Fine Manipulation (both hands), Repetitive use of hand required, Pushing & Pulling (both hands).

Required Skills/Abilities

• Know different varieties of fruit.
• Be a qualified forklift operator; must successfully complete training/certification and maintain certification.
