Overview

Sally Beauty - Assistant Manager

Essential Function

Store Managers are responsible for hiring, developing, and leading all store associates while ensuring optimal customer experiences, effectively overseeing all store operations, and maintaining brand standards. Develop strategies and plans to achieve key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication, and consistent accountability. Assistant Managers support the Store Manager in all outlined areas and are responsible for all primary duties when the Store Manager is not present.

Primary Duties

1. Brand (30%): Supervise and support associates’ daily goals to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximize sales/KPIs, and drive customer loyalty. Ensure brand standards are met, act as the main contact for customer issues, and analyze store trends.
2. People (30%): Engage, train, and develop teams to achieve positive results. Recruit and build a strong network of candidates. Address associate strengths and opportunities through coaching. Maintain positive relations, communicate effectively, and foster diversity and inclusion.
3. Operations (30%): Ensure execution of company processes, support digital strategies such as Omni-channel fulfillment, manage inventory, payroll, and store procedures, and ensure compliance with directives and projects.
4. Safety/Loss Prevention (10%): Maintain a safe environment, protect assets, ensure compliance with policies, and utilize reporting tools for inventory and cash control.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Preferred 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience
• Preferred 1+ year management experience
• Leadership ability, effective communication, scheduling flexibility, and cosmetology license (desirable but not required)
