Laguna Woods Village is seeking a television production coordinator to manage and direct studio productions, including news and commercials. The role involves coordinating equipment, personnel, and production logistics while ensuring quality outcomes. Ideal candidates will be proficient in media production, have a degree in related fields, and possess strong organizational skills.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under supervision, performs a variety of technical and coordinative work in the production and direction of television programs, segments and commercials that follow generally prescribed or established procedures; and performs related work as required. Work involves regular contact with other divisions, departments, residents, vendors and the public.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Determines production taping time, personnel and equipment needs; assesses special technical considerations; plans shot sequences and angles; and directs the production.
Assists in editing the audio and video footage, incorporating graphics or slide as appropriate, into a systematic presentation.
Produces and edits news, commercials, as well as, long and short format programs to be aired at the appropriate times, as well as, the insertion of spot-commercials
Performs Floor Manager duties during production and is responsible for preparing the guests and talent to appear in a relaxed and comfortable place, also provides camera cues and silent signals to the cast.
Gather information to plan for staging equipment, manpower assignments, and other production logistics and may assist in directing the actions of talent and crewmembers.
Responsible for substitute duties concerning the scheduling, data entry and all functions related to the TV 6 Studio operation.
Responsible for the overall appearance and organization of the TV 6 Studio.
Drives a vehicle to meetings, workshops, and other job related responsibilities.
Regular attendance required. All duties performed on-site for the Community.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensures the scheduling, data entry and all functions related to the TV6 Message Board.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Auto, PC, printer, fax machine, telephone, copier, video effects generator, matrix router, video camera, studio and remote cameras, microphones, teleprompters, character generators, audio consoles, non-linear editor editing equipment, and audio mixer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a climate controlled indoor office,
studio setting or at remote sites where the employee may be exposed to inclement weather.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in radio, television and motion picture; or equivalent combination of education and experience, which produces the following:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, feel and reach. Occasionally carries, kneels, pulls, pushes, stoops and lifts up to 10 lbs.
