Books-A-Million in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Bookseller who delivers exceptional customer service and knowledge about books and merchandise. You will proactively assist customers and create an outstanding shopping experience.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, cashiering, promoting store programs, merchandising, and maintaining store cleanliness and inventory. This role requires standing for extended periods and basic computer/cash register skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Successful completion of all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and assist with questions and orders, including cashiering.
  • Sell products and promote POS programs (Membership, Educator, and other company-sponsored programs).
  • Balance cash drawer within policy variances identified in Loss Prevention Policy.
  • Stock and merchandise shelves according to merchandising guidelines and timelines.
  • Keep the sales floor tidy and recover items during shifts (replenish, shelve books, straighten displays).
  • Follow loss prevention standards and act with integrity in all transactions.
  • Assist with inventory, shipments, and other duties as assigned, including upkeep of restrooms.

The Bookseller is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers in a friendly and helpful manner. They should be knowledgeable about books and other merchandise in the store, proactively seek to assist customers, and provide an outstanding shopping experience.

The Bookseller is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers in a friendly and helpful manner. They should be knowledgeable about books and other merchandise in the store, proactively seek to assist customers, and provide an outstanding shopping experience.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Provides customers with the highest level of customer service by greeting each customer, communicating and assisting customers with questions and orders, and efficient cashiering.
  • Sales of all products and promotion of point of sale initiatives including Membership programs, Educator programs, and other company-sponsored programs.
  • Balances cash drawer following each register shift within allowable variances as identified in the Loss Prevention Policy.
  • Delivers and places product on the sales floor in accordance with merchandising guidelines and timelines.
  • Recovers the sales floor during each shift, including, but not limited to picking up items, shelving books and product, straightening bookshelves and tables, and store housekeeping tasks as required.
  • Protects company assets by adhering to all loss prevention standards and acting with integrity in all transactions.
  • Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to assisting in other departments, receiving shipments, small fixture assembly and maintenance, assisting with inventory, and restroom cleanliness.
