Job summary

Acadia Healthcare in Wichita Falls, TX is seeking a reliable housekeeper to maintain a clean and healthy patient care environment across our facilities. You will perform general cleaning, sanitation, room preparation and linen handling to support safe, comfortable care.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior housekeeping experience in healthcare settings is preferred. CPR/de-escalation certification is encouraged; a driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and custodial tasks for facility upkeep.

• Move and arrange furniture, clean kitchens, floors, and launder linens as directed.
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and stock for department use.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and facility functions; store equipment after shifts.
• Follow infection control measures and safety protocols.

Essential Functions

• Perform specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation and cleanliness of the facility.
• Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies, using appropriate processes and germicides for cleaning equipment.
• Perform other housekeeping duties, such as move and arrange furniture, turn mattresses, clean kitchens, cooking utensils, silverware, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors as needed.
• Launder soiled linens as directed.
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies for department/unit use.
• Properly clean and store all equipment and supplies after each shift.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functions.
• Responsible for stocking of supplies as needed
• Follow all infection control measures.

Other Functions

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in housekeeping in a commercial, clinical or healthcare environment preferred.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• Valid state driver's license, where required in a facility.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
