Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist opening at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, FL. A facility noted for its supportive culture.

Description

St. Joseph’s Hospital has been part of this growing community since 1934, caring for generations of patients of all ages. The hospital features highly skilled physicians across more than 70 specialties, including surgery, internal medicine, neurology, and cardiology. A new six-story tower with 90 private patient rooms offers a covered drop-off entrance and ground-floor registration.

The practice provides anesthesia services at St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital in Tampa, FL.

Case Assignments

60-70% pediatric anesthesia with the remainder adult anesthesia; no OB. Supervision of AHPs in a 3:1 ratio, with some solo cases including surgeries on newborns.

Shifts

This is a call-taking position, including 2 first or general calls per month and some pediatric anesthesia calls, evenly distributed among pediatric anesthesiologists.

Team Highlights

The group includes 28 anesthesiologists and over 50 AHPs. BayCare has approved the construction of a new standalone Children’s Hospital adjacent to the current facility.

Qualifications

• MD, D.O., or equivalent
• Current active Florida license or ability to obtain one before start
• Fellowship training or equivalent in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology
