Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. Title 1 Schools require Highly Qualified Status, which includes either an Associate’s Degree, an equivalent two years of college, a Bachelor’s degree, or Paraeducator II certification from the NH Department of Education.

Job Responsibilities

• Instructional Paraeducator: Assists in implementing and reinforcing instructional curriculum, helps prepare and administer testing, and provides input on student performance. This applies to Title 1, Kindergarten, ELL, and Special Education.
• Preschool Paraeducator: Assists with students by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for assigned age groups.
• Technical Paraeducator: Supports students with assignments using provided materials and technology. Roles include Job Coach, Science, Computer, Graphic Arts, and Health Occupation paraeducators.
• District Wide Special Education Paraeducator: Assists with IEP goal implementation, supports social-emotional, behavioral, motor skills development, and helps with physical and health needs like lifting, feeding, toileting, and hygiene.
