Responsibilities

Techical Missions:

  • Accountable for: Responsible for the basic engineering activities of the specialties defined (validation or production according to the context): General arrangements, layout rules, technical specifications, interfaces specifications, calculation notes.
  • Accountable for: Responsible to produce the detailed design of the specialties defined: equipment specifications, factory test procedure (FAT), technical drawings, installation drawings, bill of quantities (BOQ), etc.
  • Accountable for: In case of projects, responsible to produce As-built documents of the TW after on-site activities and based on the on-site reporting.
  • Accountable for: For the TW specialties defined, responsible for the coordination of the design activities: with all the TW design team mobilized on the project, with the engineering team of other Sub-Systems (for bundle or turnkey organization), with transversal engineering teams ( Earthing & Bonding (E&B), Track embankment & slope profiles, Civil Works interfaces and topographical referential, Acoustics, Noise & Vibrations, etc.), with the field operations teams (support to the construction, test & commissioning teams), with RAMS, and other project requirements that have to be taken into account at design phase.
  • Accountable for: In project execution or product/solution development, responsible for the QCD reporting and REX of her/his scope of work.
  • Accountable for: In tender execution or product/solution business plan, responsible for the commitments on Design costings and workloads of her/his scope of work.
  • Accountable for: Responsible for the respect of processes defined at management level: Engineering Management Plan, requirements management, configuration change management, risks management, interfaces management, etc.
  • Accountable for: Responsible for the respect of applicable regulations and standards in the design of the TW solution.
  • Accountable for: Responsible for the respect of Alstom Policies in the design of the TW solution.

Responsible for:

  • Justify proposals in front of track design manager, partners, ALSTOM sub-systems and client if required.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, technical specifications and procedures including Quality procedures.
  • Definition of components technical criteria and technical evaluation of suppliers,
  • Obtaining approval of technical documents (especially drawings),
  • Bill of Quantities (BOQ) elaboration,
  • Prepare submittals to client and 3rd entities
  • Coordinate with other entities (other ALSTOM activities/ civil work partners…) for the technical aspects of the track interfaces and especially with the civil works.
  • Check sub-contractor and in-house track designs and ensure technical compliance (Ensure application of agreed quality controprocedures)

During track installation: Accountable for:

  • Carry out / Support the Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Technical open issues resolution on site, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure,
  • As-built documentation,
  • Providing Return of experience to be implemented in Reference Solutions. Contribute to the RoE committee and documentation update.
  • QCD and reporting:

Accountable for:
·Supports Design Manager for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan
·Supports to Design Manager in improvement proposals in term of QCD and during the change order process.
·Perform reporting at project level and at metier level

Knowledge & Experience :

  • Educational : Civil or Mechanical Bachelor / Master Degree
  • 5 years minimum trackwork design experience in railway
  • Project and/or construction experience preferred
  • Geotechnical and/or structural calculation knowledge as well as track alignment knowledge will be a plus.
  • Computering skills : Microsoft Office pack and AutoCAD.
