Job Summary
As a Storekeeper, you will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods and supplies within a store or warehouse. This role involves ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining records, and keeping the store organized and clean, all while adhering to safety and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect all incoming materials and reconcile with purchase orders.
- Organize and store items in appropriate locations based on classification and usage.
- Issue materials to relevant departments or personnel upon request.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels and transactions (manual or computerized).
- Perform regular inventory counts and report discrepancies.
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and documentation of stock.
- Monitor stock levels and inform management of low inventory or expired items.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the storage area.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely restocking.
- Prepare and submit reports (stock movement, damage reports, etc.) as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; further training or certification in storekeeping or inventory management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a storekeeper, inventory clerk, or similar role.
- Familiarity with inventory software and systems (e.g., ERP, MS Excel).
- Good physical stamina for lifting and organizing stock.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math and communication skills.
Working Conditions
- May be required to lift or move heavy items.
- May work in warehouses, storerooms, or outdoor storage areas.
- Could involve standing for long periods or working in shifts depending on industry
