Overview

The City of Scottsdale is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support and enhance the network infrastructure behind one of the most critical public utilities — our municipal water systems. This position is part of the Water IT division and plays a key role in managing both enterprise and SCADA/OT network environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, ICS/OT platforms, and will be responsible for maintaining secure, high-performance connectivity across both air-gapped and citywide networks. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated engineer to work on a diverse range of technologies, influence long-term infrastructure strategy, and help safeguard vital public services. If you\'re looking for a challenging role that blends technical complexity, operational importance, and public impact, this position offers all of that in a stable and collaborative municipal environment.

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $120,536.00 per year.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited educational institution.
  • Five years\' network engineering experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may substitute for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver\'s license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver\'s licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
  • Preferred: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during active employment by the City, regardless of remote work approval.
  • Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
