Signalling Hardware Application Lead Design Engineer

Purpose of the Job: Prepare and execute Signalling HW application engineering activities in support of one or several Bids/Projects and/or Programs in line with Signalling Strategy, Policies (including EHS, Railway Safety, Local Regulations, and Professional Standards) and Bids and Projects QCD’s targets.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering.
2. At least 5 years of successful experience in design, drafting, or engineering in railway projects.
3. Knowledge of railway systems, available equipment and systems, especially for railway signalling.
4. Experience in electrical diagram design such as cable plans, wiring diagrams, cabinet design, etc.
5. Fluent in English.
6. Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
7. Quality-focused, rigorous approach to work.
8. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
9. Self-motivated for technical matters and quick learning.
10. Position based in Istanbul.
11. No restrictions to travel.

Responsibilities:

1. Organizing and leading the full Project HW application design engineering activities.
2. Preparing and executing HW application engineering activities in support of one or several Bids/Projects and/or Programs’ initiatives for railway signalling technologies under the direction of hierarchy and in conformance with Transport policies and standards, applicable regulations, and professional standards (including EHS).
3. Preparing the Installation Design & Hardware design drawings.
4. Delivering signaling application data, hardware design drawings, cable plans, wiring diagrams, signaling equipment rooms layout, etc.
5. Producing cabinet sub-rack configuration files.
6. Taking ownership of the assigned tasks.
7. Supporting in the Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation, including equipment codification requests and quantities.
8. Organizing and producing documental hardware design deliveries according to the project templates and needs.
9. Analyzing and managing design change requests and actively participating in the definition of the HW & SW package to be delivered to the V&V, installation, and Testing & Commissioning teams.
10. Ensuring independence of the design activity from the verification activity.
11. Managing all documents from the customer project to carry out signalling engineering studies during all project life.
