Responsibilities
The Senior Petrophysicist is responsible to support Petrophysical Log Data Acquisition from both Wireline and LWD conveyance scopes per company requirements. The role is autonomous on a day-to-day basis, but works to agreed scopes set-out in advance by subsea line management. The position may also support other company disciplines with agreed and defined project engineering work. This is a technical function based on good engineering practice, international standards, and due diligence, as applicable to upstream oil exploration/production equipment, and in accordance with agreed work scopes. It is envisioned that this role will develop to take greater responsibility.
- Coordinates and supervises the petrophysical data acquisition activities and ensure the maintenance of high standards of logging data quality and the implementation of safe and cost-effective logging operations
- Carry out data processing (Acoustic, NMR etc.) and analysis, formation assessment, as well as QA and QC.
- Real time monitoring of pressure testing and fluid sampling for open-hole and cased-hole petrophysical data during wireline and logging while drilling (LWD).
- Take proactive role during perforation operation and instruct wireline engineers for correct depth correlation
- Examine and recommend the acquisition and set up the configuration file of petrophysical data for upcoming wells.
- Have experience on processing and interpreting open and cased hole logs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cuttings analysis, mud gas, and rig operations.
- Creating and delivering presentation materials of the highest caliber to management and technical peers.
- Support young professionals with technical support and mentoring
- Capable of making important judgments and finding solutions.
Experience & Skills
Required:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience as Petrophysicist
- Experience in clastic, carbonate, LRP and unconventional plays
- 2-3 years of field engineer experience is preferable
- Acoustic Log processing (Wireline and LWD) experience is must
- Experience in openhole log processing including multicomponent resistivity, nuclear magnetic resonance, spectroscopy and Image logs etc.
- Experience in cased-hole and production logging technology and interpretation (PLT/FSI/RST) is preferable
- Exposure in Wireline/ LWD contracts administration, tender document preparation & evaluation and supervising outsourced job
- Knowledge of Techlog software is preferable though not limited to
- Fluency in English verbally and written required
- Office based operation petrophysics job
- Real time job monitoring with night shift might be required during operation
Education
Minimum BSc degree in Engineering / Geosciences / Applied Physics. MSc and/or PHD degrees in related discipline are desirable.
