Job summary

Scrambly is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build scalable core systems and internal tooling. You will design robust Node.js (NestJS) RESTful APIs, tackle complex scalability challenges for millions of users, and collaborate with product, design, and QA to translate requirements into solid technical specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Node.js and modern frameworks.
• Excellent system design skills and backend architecture knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable) and containerization (Docker).
• Proficiency with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases and messaging (RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub).
• Hands-on React experience for internal tooling and internal UI work.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a fast-paced team.
• English proficiency at B2+ level for international collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Node.js (NestJS) RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming to promote clean code.
• Monitor reliability, optimize CI/CD, and manage containerized app lifecycles with DevOps.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to translate requirements into robust specs.
