Join our Team

The Senior Director of Purchasing will oversee the purchasing and storeroom operations for both Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus and Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet, ensuring that all departments across both properties are adequately supplied to perform their functions efficiently.

What you will do

• Willingness to work flexible hours to successfully complete all major tasks and responsibilities.
• Ability to maintain good relationships with all departments and the Home Office to ensure effective purchasing.
• Commitment to adhere to all local and corporate policies and procedures related to the Purchasing Department.
• Ability to work safely and in an organized manner.
• Strong command of both written and spoken English.
• Ensure that all items received by the hotel are properly documented according to Four Seasons purchasing and receiving procedures.
• Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for all hotel categories.
• Keep all storage areas secure, clean, and well-organized.
• Establish and maintain par stock levels for all inventory items, balancing inventory efficiency with operational needs.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on key metrics such as quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Provide procurement support and insights during new hotel openings, renovations, and brand conversions.
• Coordinate the annual operating equipment and supply requirements with the corporate Purchasing Department and relevant hotel department heads.
• Manage purchases related to capital projects in coordination with the corporate Purchasing Department and external contractors.
• Minimum of 3 years managerial experience required. A degree in a related field is preferred but not essential if relevant work experience is demonstrated.
• Actively participate in cost control, supplier contract management, and negotiation processes in line with hotel budget goals. Ensure compliance with company policies and help mitigate supply chain risks.
• Awareness of sourcing from local and sustainable suppliers and ability to develop environmentally friendly purchasing strategies is a plus.
• Analyze purchasing data regularly to provide reports to management and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Strong knowledge of purchasing operations, including customs clearance for international merchandise.
• Familiarity with high-end luxury hotel and restaurant products.
• Strong research and negotiation skills with the flexibility to travel when needed to secure the best quality products.
• Excellent command of English; Turkish language skills are an asset.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
