Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Integration Engineer to design and support an enterprise data warehouse and data marts for a global insurance business. You will build ETL/ELT pipelines, create data extracts, and deliver analytical reports used by business users daily.

The role emphasizes data quality, performance tuning, and collaboration with analysts to translate requirements into robust data models. Strong SQL Server, SSIS, and Dimensional modelling experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on data warehouse/ETL development experience.
• Proficiency in MS SQL Server including database engine, objects, and administration basics relevant for a developer.
• Advanced T-SQL: complex queries, window functions, CTEs, stored procedures, dynamic SQL, error handling.
• SSIS: design, development, deployment, and troubleshooting of packages with configuration, logging, scheduling.
• Performance optimization: reading execution plans, index strategy, statistics, query refactoring, large data loads.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts: dimensional modelling (Kimball), star/snowflake schemas, facts and dimensions, staging/ODS/DWH/data mart layers, incremental loads.
• Understanding of Slowly Changing Dimensions and practical implementation of all SCD types.
• Ability to read/write technical specifications and source-to-target mappings.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control system.

Responsibilities

• Develop, extend, and support enterprise data warehouse and data marts.
• Build, schedule, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines loading data from operational sources.
• Create data extracts for internal/external consumers per specs.
• Produce analytical reports and datasets for business users and downstream systems.
• Analyze and tune query and pipeline performance; optimize loads.
• Gather requirements from users and analysts and translate into data models.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues; perform data reconciliation.
• Provide production support and maintain documentation; participate in code reviews and version control.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to architectural decisions.
