Job summary

Apilex, an AI-native legal operating system, is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and operate AI systems used across real legal workflows. You will own technically challenging projects and collaborate with researchers, engineers, and legal domain experts to turn new methods into production systems.

You’ll work on GraphRAG pipelines, knowledge graphs, tool interfaces, and multi-agent orchestration to deliver reliable, source-grounded outputs and scalable, safe AI solutions for complex

Qualifications

• Five+ years of engineering experience building and operating AI or ML systems in production.
• Strong Python; design systems with boundaries, types and tests.
• Agentic systems, tool use, state across multi-step tasks, and recovery.
• Production RAG, chunking strategies, and regression testing.
• Graph-based systems, knowledge graphs, GraphRAG, graph databases.
• Judgement to decide things where not all answers exist.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve AI systems for complex legal reasoning and long-horizon tasks.
• Develop agentic systems that plan, use tools, manage state, and recover from errors.
• Build graph-based orchestration across GraphRAG, knowledge bases, and multi-agent workflows.
• Contribute to model post-training, verification, and evaluation methodologies.
• Create scalable pipelines for synthetic and human-generated training data.
