National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to manage and optimize security tools across on-prem and cloud environments. The role emphasizes policy guidance, automation, and incident readiness, supporting a robust security posture.

The position requires a strong engineering background, leadership, and extensive experience in security tooling. This is a remote, regular, 40-hour-per-week role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years experience or Master’s with 7+ years or PhD with 4+ years; extensive IS expertise.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills; analytical problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Manages, troubleshoots, and tunes cybersecurity tools and sensors (SIEM, SOAR).
• Tests and tunes on-premises and cloud environments for visibility and secure data retention.
• Guides security policies for distributed tools (firewalls, EDR, vulnerability tools).
• Develops workflows and integrations to maximize tool capabilities.
